2008 BMX
Season
May 10
- The big
weekend at Port Angeles BMX is in the books for this
year. Saturdays Race for Life was a huge success raising
$2700 for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society of America.
Congratulations to Tee-Jay Johnson for being our top
fundraiser with $426. Congrats also to Anthony Johnson
for winning the X-Box 360. 91 riders made up 23 motos of
racing on Saturday.
May 11 - Sundays
race went off with a little bit of wind. Well, maybe
a lot of wind but no rain, which is always good. 202
riders made up 45 motos of racing.

NEWS
-
Rule changes for 2008 - The
only major rule change for this season has to do with a
rider moving over at the start and finish of the race.
The new rule states that a rider must hold their line
off of the start for 30 feet. A line will be placed 30
feet from the gate so riders will know when they can move
over. Also, "on the final straight, a rider determined
by an official to have intentionally impeded the progress of
another rider may be disqualified"
- Work
Parties - As always there
will be a lot of work to be done to get the track back in
racing condition. Hopefully the weather will be on our
side and we can make some major changes this season.
Work parties are scheduled for April 12th. Work party
will be gin at 10:00 a.m. If you have your own tools
it is recommended that you bring them (rakes, shovels, etc).
I hope everyone can find some time this year to help out at
the work parties. Many hands make light work.
